Awoi Mach

She lost her father shortly after she was born. She lost her mother at 13. Orphaned and resettled in a refugee camp in Kenya, she was raised by her grandmother alongside her siblings — with nothing but faith and a quiet belief that greater things were waiting for her.

Today, Awuoi Mach Guguei walks runways in Paris and New York.

Discovered and signed by ISIS Models Africa in 2019, She does not hide from the word "refugee" — she wears it as a badge of honour. Her life's mission is to change the world's perception of what a refugee looks like.

And she is doing exactly that — one runway at a time.
